Dr. Elaine J. Johnson

 Ph.D., Pre-Licensed Psychologist

Dr. Elaine Johnson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Emory University. She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Emory University and her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from the City College of New York. She competed a year of Clinical Internship at Cambridge Univeristy in Cambridge, England where she conducted research in an applied Developmental Psychology Laboratory.

Dr. Johnson has expertise in the treatment of Selective Mutism, an anxiety disorder that typically develops in childhood. She is in the process of becoming certified in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), an evidence based treatment for children with disruptive behavior disorders.

Dr. Johnson serves as the Director of the Courageous Voices Selective Mutism Clinic. The Clinic provides evidence based Parent Coaching and Skills Groups for children and adolescents struggling to use their voices.
